Nov. 29, 2013 - With more than three months to go before the show, March 18 - 19 at the Toronto Congress Centre, the Canadian Rental Mart is all but sold out. Exhibitors have snapped up 220 10-by-10 booths, leaving only two more available for sale. The show has already begun to spill out into the parking lot, as at least one supplier has made plans to exhibit equipment outside the building. The Canadian Rental Mart will feature exhibits from at least 90 suppliers displaying a huge range of rental equipment, small and large. Party and event rental suppliers are also present in higher numbers. Many suppliers will be offering special discounts and promotions available only on the Rental Mart show floor. Nov. 25, 2014 - Canadian Rental Mart organizers have released the free educational seminar program for the national trade show, taking place March 18 - 19, 2014. There is one seminar each day at 9:00 a.m. in the International Plaza Hotel (formerly the DoubleTree) conference rooms across the street from the Toronto Congress Centre show venue. The 2014 presenters will be Mark Borkowski of Mercantile Mergers and and Acquisitions and Neil Courneya of Hy-Cor International. Oct. 22, 2013 - Rooms at the official Canadian Rental Mart hotel are available to be booked online at special rates right now. Canadian Rental Mart attendees can get rooms right across the street from the show location for $145 per night at the International Plaza (formerly the Doubletree). The rates are available until Feb. 1, 2014. The Rental Mart takes place March 18 - 19, 2014.

On the first night of every Canadian Rental Mart, the Ontario Canadian Rental Association holds its gala banquet where rental operators from all over the province get together to shake hands, rub shoulders and bend elbows. The national and local presidents address the crowd, and awards are handed out to the outstanding companies, individuals and suppliers in the industry over the past year. Then there is entertainment. Past events have featured bands, comedians, dinner theatre and casinos. But this time, the Ontario CRA has come up with something a little different “It is called a loonie auction,” Ontario CRA president Dale Brinklow explains. “A fellow named Doug Pearson from Kinmount [Ont.] does them.
